life Schreiadler: What is Life?

What is Life?

LIFE is the European funding instrument for environmental projects. The acronym LIFE goes back to the French name L' Instrument Financier pour l' Environment, which means as much as "The Financial Instrument for the Environment".

Since 2007, there are 3 main points:

Life + Nature and Biodiversity
Life + Environment Policy and
Life + Information and Communication.

Our project is part of the Life + Nature.

Since 1992, more than 3,000 projects were co-financed by the LIFE program. Beneficiaries from LIFE projects are small and international companies, national and local authorities, organizations, associations and research institutions. EU funding will always be paid only during a certain period.

What is Life + Nature?

LIFE + Nature and Biodiversity is the only instrument of EU funding to support nature conservation projects. It promotes exemplary innovative projects within the Natura 2000 network. Projects that serve preservation or restoration of natural habitats and populations of endangered wild plants and animals (Life + Nature) or projects that counteract the decline of biodiversity (Life + Biodiversity).
